ICPSR is the world's largest repository of social science research data sets. Most data sets are available in Stata, SPSS, R and SAS formats. ICPSR also lists recent publications that utilized the data set in its research.

Prepared by the Virginia State Police for the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, arrest statistics gathered on selected types of crime by participating law enforcement agencies throughout Virginia is provided at the city/county level from 1999 - 2012.

Contains the most commonly requested Uniform Crime Reports data, including: Hate Crime Statistics, Known Offenses, Persons Arrested, and Officers Killed and Assaulted.

The FBI's Crime Data Explorer (CDE) aims to provide transparency, create easier access, and expand awareness of criminal, and noncriminal, law enforcement data sharing; improve accountability for law enforcement; and provide a foundation to help shape public policy with the result of a safer nation. Use the CDE to discover available data through visualizations, download data in .csv format, and other large data files.

NACJD hosts several large-scale datasets, including the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), the FBI's National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS), and the Project on Human Development in Chicago Neighborhoods (PHDCN).

ICPSR Study Number: 27501. The National Neighborhood Crime Study (NNCS) contains tract-level crime and sociodemographic data for cities across the United States in order to permit analyses of the sources of crime for "communities" of different racial-ethnic and class composition. The NNCS also sought to examine the extent to which the causes of crime in communities are contingent on the types of geographic region, labor market, or other contextual characteristics.

ICPSR Study Number: 8451. The dataset describes each individual executed and the circumstances surrounding the crime for which the person was convicted. Variables include age, race, name, sex, and occupation of the offender, place, jurisdiction, date, and method of execution, and the crime for which the offender was executed.

These data collections provide annual data on prisoners under a sentence of death and on those whose offense sentences were commuted or vacated during the years indicated. Information is supplied for basic sociodemographic characteristics such as age, sex, race, ethnicity, marital status at time of imprisonment, level of education, and state of incarceration. Criminal history data include prior felony convictions for criminal homicide and legal status at the time of the capital offense. Additional information is available for inmates removed from death row by yearend of the last year indicated and for inmates who were executed.
