Current Population Survey (CPS)The Current Population Survey (CPS) is a monthly survey of households in the U.S.conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It provides cross-sectional data on the U.S. labor force, employment, unemployment, earnings, employment by occupation, etc. The March Supplement includes income, poverty and health insurance coverage. The CPS data provide reliable estimates at the state level and for 12 of the largest metropolitan statistical areas.
Other supplement topics (some in different months) include after-tax money income, benefits that are not cash, displaced workers, job tenure, occupational mobility, temporary work, adult education,volunteering, tobacco use, food availability, fertility, veteran information, and other related topics.
