This guide, newly created in February 2020, is designed to help W&L students who are not enrolled in the University's Education program learn about issues related to volunteering in local school and other engagement in community-based learning.

Two broad topic areas have been identified initially which may be of particular value to volunteering students:

• classroom management;
• cultural competency.
