Reference Sources -- World War II

Reference materials are information resources that are consulted for particular information needs and are not frequently read cover-to-cover. Examples of reference works are encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, almanacs, handbooks, etc. 

IMPORTANT: Reference works are great sources for "pre-research." Use reference sources to glean background information on a topic, generate keywords, or find additional resources. These works inform the next stage of your research process.
