Use Zotero to manage your sources
Zotero is a research tool that automatically senses citation information in your browser, allowing you to add sources to your personal library. You can then use the sources in your library to create bibliographies, store articles and link to articles through the W&L library.
The following databases almost exclusively list articles in important academic journals and related publications -- in some cases, comprehensively covering only one subject area.
- Academic Search Complete This link opens in a new window
Excellent starting point. Multidisciplinary article database offers access to more than 16,000 journals, magazines, and newspapers, including over 15,000 peer-reviewed journals.
- SocINDEX with Full Text This link opens in a new window
Comprehensive coverage of sociology and its sub-disciplines, with very good coverage of related areas of study, especially politics. In addition to full-text journals, it contains informative abstracts for core coverage journals dating as far back as 1895.
- Women's Studies International This link opens in a new window
Nearly 600,000 entries from over 2,000 periodicals and other sources, dating back to the 1970's, on the "core disciplines in Women's Studies." Materials include: journal, magazine, and newspaper articles; reports, theses and dissertations; book chapters; and more.
- Communication and Mass Media Complete This link opens in a new window
Provides citations to over 600 journals in communication, mass media, and related fields, as well as books, reports, dissertations, and other resources. Includes full-text articles from over 500 journals.
- JSTOR This link opens in a new window
A digital archive of over 1,100 important scholarly journals. All issues of each journal are included in full-text except for the most recent 2-to-5 years, based on JSTOR's agreement with the journal's publisher.

Full-text access to about 600 journals from academic publishers.
- Think Tanks, Public Policy Groups, and Advocacy GroupsThink tanks and public policy, advocacy, and research groups provide a great deal of information in a wide range of subject areas. See the " Find Publications in Group Sites" options.

- NewsBank Access World News This link opens in a new windowArticles from 1,700 U.S. and international full-text information sources, mostly newspapers and wire services. Able to focus a search on news sources from a single U.S. state at a time or a region of the world, such as a handful of sources from South America.
- Factiva This link opens in a new window
International business and news coverage from over 14,000 sources, including newspapers, news wires, magazines, trade journals, radio and television transcripts, etc. Contemporary coverage of the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal.
- Westlaw Campus Research This link opens in a new windowHighly respected database covers 7,000 sources for legal information, news sources, and business research. News sources feature hundreds of U.S. and international newspapers and broadcast transcripts and you may opt to limit your search to Latin American news sources.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) enables current W&L undergraduate students, faculty, and staff to use other libraries' collections to borrow books or other printed materials and/or receive electronic copies of articles.
