The Delaware state bar exam will be administered on July 30-31, 2024.

Applications are due April 2, 2024. Late applications are accepted until May 7, 2024.

Delaware Bar Exam Details

The Delaware bar exam is 2.5 days. General details regarding the Delaware bar exam may be found online.

Delaware Bar Exam Schedule:

Day 1: 4 essays and MPT, 6 hours

Day 2: MBE, 6 hours

The essay and MPT portions of the Delaware bar exam are 60% of your total bar exam score and tests the following subjects:

  • Agency
  • Constitutional Law
  • Contracts
  • Corporations
  • Criminal Law (including the Delaware Criminal Code)
  • Equity
  • Evidence
  • Partnerships
  • Procedure in the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware, the Court of Chancery of the State of Delaware, the Superior Court of the state of Delaware (Civil and Criminal), the Family Court of the State of Delaware, the US District Court for the District of Delaware, and the original and appellate jurisdiction of the courts of Delaware
  • Property
  • Torts
  • Trusts
  • Uniform Commercial Code
  • Wills

The MBE portion of the Delaware bar exam is 40% of your total bar exam score and tests the following subjects:

  • Civil Procedure
  • Constitutional Law
  • Contracts
  • Criminal Law and Procedure
  • Evidence
  • Real Property
  • Torts
