General Application Information

The filing deadline for the JULY 2017 Alabama Bar Exam is FEBRUARY 1, 2017. The exam will take place JULY 25-26, 2017.

Content and Scoring of the Exam

The Alabama bar exam consists of:

  • six Alabama essay questions -- 20% of total score
  • six Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions -- 20% of total score
  • two Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions -- 10% of total score
  • the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) (200 multiple-choice questions) -- 50% of total score
